The print head is a delicate and valuable component in a bar code printer, and it is also a fragile device. Like a car, it is a worn product, which will eventually be damaged. Only by paying attention to maintenance can the life of the print head be prolonged.
Pre maintenance
In order to play a better role, it is necessary to clean the print head once every roll of ribbon or thermal paper is used up. Pay attention to take off the ring and other hard objects when cleaning the print head to prevent scratching the print head, and pay attention not to damage the print head with grounded metal tape or electrostatic objects.
Clean with cotton swab soaked in 70% alcohol, turn off the printer power and turn on the print head first, and lightly brush the mechanical part of the printer with a small amount of cotton cloth, or gently blow away the floating dust. Do not use any hard metal or tools (such as screwdrivers) that can be worn and damaged to rub the pollutants in the print head. Press the cotton swab with alcohol on the print head and wipe it from beginning to end. Do not wipe it back and forth. Then rotate the roller and wipe it while rotating. If the cotton swab is dirty, do not use it again.
Factors causing premature damage of print head.
Scratch-The long-term movement of label/ribbon through the print head will wear the protective layer of ceramic coating, exposing the pins (dots) of the print head and eventually damaging them.
